The monsoon hit hard, turning paths to mud. Meera, ever the helper, went to aid a neighbor during a flood warning. Raju stayed back with the kids and Arjun. Hours passed; worry set in. Then, a villager burst in: Meera's cart had overturned in the raging river. She was gone, drowned in the currents.
